At Holy Cross we are committed to developing a love of mathematics in our students. Our program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in a mathematical world.
As numeracy is a critical function in our world, students undertake daily numeracy sessions to immerse themselves in mathematical language and hands-on experiences that enhance their understanding of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.
By differentiating the content within the classroom, our teachers meet curriculum standards while catering for the individual needs of all students. Learning activities are strategically planned to ensure that students become proficient in reasoning, problem solving and computational fluency.
Students are further challenged through opportunities for competitions and are assessed through Essential Assessment, PatMaths and NAPLAN.
Students in need of additional attention are provided with an opportunity to participate in an Intervention program that provides short term one to one and small group intervention, allowing students to continue progressing with their peers in the classroom.
