Meet Teacher Tammy Berry

Hello my name is Tammy Berry and I will be one of the new teachers at Holy Cross Catholic Primary School. I am super excited to start at Holy Cross and experience all the exciting things a foundation school brings!

I have been a teacher for 20 years and throughout this time I have taught all year levels, specialised in assisting students with additional needs and I have also had experience teaching in a foundation school. I love teaching all year levels and feel that every year brings its own blessings.

I firmly believe that every child has the ability to achieve their full potential with some gentle guidance and a carefully thought out and planned curriculum. I feel that my job as a teacher is to provide the tools and the experiences that will encourage my students to be self-motivated and curious learners, who continue to seek out learning with a positive mindset. My faith is a very important part of my life and I strive to model to my students the actions of a person, who lives by the teachings of the Gospel.

Outside of work hours, I love to spend time with family and friends. I am so blessed to have two teenage boys who keep my husband and I very busy with their passion and love for soccer. Yes, that’s right, I am a soccer mum. So if I am not driving my kids to soccer or watching them play, I am scrubbing dirty uniforms and boots and I am constantly dodging the soccer balls that are left all over my house.

Finally, I also love going out for dinner, the movies, love the beach and of course I am obsessed with my dog, Ted. He is a cavoodle who gets too much attention and is spoiled rotten!

I can’t wait to meet all the new students and families of Holy Cross and I hope to experience lots of exciting ‘firsts’ throughout 2022 with you all.
